Aluminum-Plastic Packaging Recycling Line for Blister Packs & Films

SunyGroup-sunyalurecycle

An Aluminum-Plastic Packaging Recycling Line is a specialized dry physical sorting system manufactured by SUNY GROUP to recover pure aluminum and plastic from waste pharmaceutical blister packs and laminated aluminum-plastic films. In addition to medical blister sheets and flexible packaging films, this equipment is widely applied to separate all kinds of aluminum tubes, aluminum-plastic bottle caps, car ornaments, and other plastic products. Through multi-stage crushing, water-cooling turbo grinding, rotary screening, and electrostatic separation, the line completely separates tightly bonded aluminum foil and plastic layers without creating chemical or thermal pollution.

Why Blister Packs and Aluminum-Plastic Films Need Dry Physical Separation

Waste blister packs (such as expired tablet packs and medical PTP aluminum foils) and aluminum-plastic packaging films combine ultra-thin aluminum foil with tough PVC, PE, or PET plastic layers. Because these blister sheets and flexible films are lightweight and tightly laminated, traditional burning or chemical acid-washing methods cause high aluminum loss and severe air or water pollution.

To process blister and film waste cleanly and profitably, the Aluminum-Plastic Recycling Machine developed by SUNY GROUP adopts a 100% physical separation method with five core advantages:

  1. 100% Dry Physical Process: The entire blister and film separation workflow relies purely on physical crushing, grinding, and electrostatic sorting—operating without heating, burning, water, or chemicals, guaranteeing environmental protection and zero pollution.
  2. 99.8% Separation Efficiency: Designed for low operational cost and high processing efficiency, the system separates fine aluminum powder from plastic film powder at a purity rate of up to 99.8%.
  3. Automatic & Labor-Saving Operation: Controlled automatically by a centralized PLC system, only 1 or 2 operators are needed to run the entire blister and film recycling plant.
  4. Wide Raw Material Adaptability: Beyond pharmaceutical blister packs and flexible packaging films, the line easily processes aluminum toothpaste tubes, aluminum-plastic bottle caps, and automotive trim ornaments.
  5. Flexible Workshop Installation: Convenient to install with multiple assembly layouts, adapting seamlessly to different factory venues and floor spaces.

Step-by-Step Blister & Film Separation Process

To liberate thin aluminum foil from tough plastic backing in blister packs and packaging films, the Aluminum-Plastic Packaging Recycling Line executes a continuous four-step closed-loop process:

  1. Crushing Blister & Film Waste into 10mm Pieces: Waste blister packs and aluminum-plastic film rolls are fed into the knife crusher and sheared into uniform 10mm pieces.
  2. Water-Cooling Turbo Grinding into Fine Powders: The 10mm blister and film pieces enter the water-cooling turbo-type grinding machine. High-speed milling detaches the aluminum layer from the plastic film and grinds both materials into fine powders. (Note: The more uniform the material particles after milling, the better the final sorting result.)
  3. Rotary Screen Closed-Loop Filtering: The milled powder mixture is classified by a rotary vibrating screen. Any coarse blister or film particles that are not completely separated are automatically routed back into the grinding machine for secondary milling.
  4. High-Voltage Electrostatic Separation: Fine, fully dissociated powders enter the electrostatic separator, where conductive aluminum powder and non-conductive plastic powder are cleanly separated into different discharge hoppers.

Production Process of Aluminum-Plastic Packaging Recycling Line

Main Machines in the Aluminum-Plastic Packaging Recycling Line

Processing soft packaging films and ductile pharmaceutical blister sheets requires specialized cutting and temperature control. Every unit in the Aluminum-Plastic Packaging Recycling Line is engineered specifically for these materials:

1. Step-Shearing Crushing System & Pre-Shredder

Flexible films and blister strips can easily wrap around standard rotors. Our crusher uses a step-shearing style cutter that resolves cutting resistance and greatly increases shearing force. Blade materials include 9CrSi, Cr12MoV, SKD-II, and D2, which can be customized according to customer requirements.

  • High-Capacity Shredder Configuration (>500 kg/h): For production lines with a capacity above 500 kg/h, a single-shaft shredder is equipped upstream. It features a high-hardness main shaft composed of micro-cutting heads and a cylindrical tool rod, delivering stronger impact power when crushing tangled film rolls or bulk blister bales while reducing blade wear.

2. Water-Cooling Grinding System

When grinding thin plastic films and PVC blister sheets at high speeds, frictional heat can easily melt the plastic and cause it to stick to the aluminum.

  • Double-Life Abrasive Disk: Our grinding system adopts a new abrasive disk design featuring high capacity and superior wear resistance, delivering a service life two times longer than common abrasive disks.
  • Air Cooler & Circulating Water System: Actively controls milling chamber temperature and reduces noise, ensuring plastic film and blister materials stay cool and brittle for clean powder dissociation.

3. Circular Vibrating Screen & Negative Pressure Feeding

  • Circular Vibrating Screen: Sends large-size blister or film particles back for second-time grinding via an automatic feedback system, making the grinding stage much more effective.
  • Negative Pressure Feeding System: Conveys lightweight aluminum-plastic film powders smoothly into the separator while preventing fine dust from escaping into the workshop.

4. Dust Removal & PLC Whole Control System

  • Dust Removal System: Gathers airborne dust particles with a diameter larger than 0.3 micrometers at a collection efficiency of up to 99%. It can be installed as a compact unit directly beside the indoor machine or configured as a large centralized dust collector.
  • PLC Whole Control: Features continuous feeding, intelligent operation, and automatic fault alarms, making the Aluminum-Plastic Packaging Recycling Line easy to operate while saving labor.
